Steve Halliday

Steve Halliday comes to Tsawwassen Springs with four decades of experience and success in the management of luxury hotel operations. Steve joins Tsawwassen Springs following his most recent position as founder and president of Halliday Hospitality Group, working directly with Nat Bosa of Bosa Development as his asset manager for the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria. Prior to that, he opened the 156 Room Rosewood Hotel Georgia in 2012 and spent 26 years in senior positions within Pan Pacific Hotels Group, most notably as Vice President to the group’s President and General Manager of the 503 Room Pan Pacific Vancouver for more than 10 years, first opening the hotel in for Expo 86.

Steve will be responsible for the par 70 golf course already in operation for 3 years and private and community related events specializing in intimate or large scale weddings, corporate retreats, family gatherings and golf tournaments as well as restaurant operations that will make up the majority of the $20 Million 33,000 SF Clubhouse that opens in the early fall of 2015. Tsawwassen Springs is being developed by Shato Holdings of Vancouver for the past 5 years.

Director of Golf

Chris Hood

Chris Hood comes to Tsawwassen Springs after a successful career at many top golf facilities throughout the Lower Mainland. Chris currently serves as the Director of Golf here at Tsawwassen Springs. Chris has been a PGA of Canada professional since 1992. Mr. Hood is a golf industry veteran having worked with high profile operators such as Golf BC and Intrawest Golf in key positions. As a CPGA Executive Professional, and past President of the PGA of BC, Chris brings a solid golf industry background to Tsawwassen Springs. He works closely with the Sales and Marketing Team here, and being actively involved in building Tsawwassen Springs into the preeminent Golf course and Community in Western Canada.

Murray Poje

Murray Poje is a Class “A” Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association Professional with international tour experience in the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa. He is a past Professional Golfers’ Association of BC champion and the founder and Executive Director of the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, Canada’s only national junior tour run exclusively by Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association Professionals.

As Head Golf Professional at Tsawwassen Springs Golf, Murray is the first point of contact for game improvement for players of all ages and skill levels. Murray is a renowned golf teacher and coach.

Course Designer

Ted Locke

Local course designer Ted Locke has been designing great golf experiences for over 18 years. Prior to establishing his own consulting company in 1992, Ted was a design associate with Graham Cooke & Associates / Golf Course Architecture, and served as Director of Design for their Vancouver office base from 1990 – 92. He also worked at Ecosign – Mountain Resort Planning, Whistler, B.C., assisting with the development of master plan documents and detailed design.
Ted Locke has degrees in Landscape Architecture and Economics and has lectured on golf course design at the University of British Columbia.

As a golfer, Ted has played throughout North America and Europe. His playing background includes competing at the collegiate level for the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma and University of Guelph and is still active with provincial amateur tournaments. This experience, along with numerous years of golf course maintenance experience in British Columbia, has provided him with the expertise to maintain a diverse list of clientele in the golf business. Ted Locke’s office base is located in Tsawwassen, B.C. where he lives with his wife and two sons.

Headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., Shato Holdings Ltd. is a diversified organization with many well-known business interests, including White Spot Restaurants, and prime real estate holdings throughout North America. Under the direction of Peter Toigo and Ron Toigo, Shato Holdings Ltd. has developed major shopping centres, hotels, motels, commercial centres, office buildings as well as large residential developments. Shato’s construction and project management partner is Talisman Homes, led by Ross Clouston and Phil Yee.

In addition to Shato Holdings Ltd. and others, the investment team is joined by Bruce Allen, music industry leader; world-famous musician, Michael Bublé; and the late Pat Quinn, Canada’s 2002 Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Coach.
