2015 Coats for Kids

A big thank you to everyone for their time and contribution towards this year’s Coats for Kids at Tsawwassen Springs! We did wonderful and just as well as last year, totaling over 500 items of goods to bring to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau located downtown.  The boxes at the Clubhouse were stuffed at every corner, and we received an abundance of new and old clothes + toys alike. Thank you again to everyone and happy holidays to all!

The amazing thing was that they have received so many donations that they are already packing stuff up to deliver for next Christmas.  That was wonderful to see.

MEDIA RELEASE – Quinn Inducted into IIHF Hall of Fame

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants Hockey Club, along with Pat Quinn’s Restaurant, would like to congratulate the family of late Giants Co-Owner Pat Quinn on his induction into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame.

“I can’t imagine there’s anyone that has won more than Pat did with international teams,” said Giants Majority Owner Ron Toigo. “Whether it was the Olympics, World Cups, the Spengler Cup, the World Juniors or the Under-18s, no one was as successful on those stages as Pat, and no one was more proud to be Canadian.”

Quinn, who passed away in November, 2014, won an Olympic gold medal, a World Junior Championship, a World Under-18 Championship and World Cup of Hockey while also winning a bronze medal at the World Championship. He is the only coach to win medals at five different levels of international play.

Quinn received the Order of Canada in 2012. He was also a two-time Memorial Cup winner and a two-time recipient of the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s Coach of the Year.

Other members of the 2016 induction class include former NHLers Sergei Fedorov, Peter Bondra, Valeri Kamensky and Ville Peltonen along with American coach Ben Smith.

The Giants are back in action on Friday night when they play host to the Everett Silvertips for the annual Teddy Bear Toss game presented by TELUS at the Pacific Coliseum. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm. For tickets, go to TicketLeader.ca or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
