March Construction Update

The Lower Mainland certainly experienced a strong bout of snow this February – but construction at the Houses continued where possible!   We are down to the last stretch of Phase 7 Houses, with only 4 more Houses in that phase left to turnover.  In Phase 8, many Houses on the south end have siding installation occurring, and we are working on the roofing and rough in plumbing for the Houses on the north end.
Over at Phase 9, 50% of the Houses have had their foundations poured, while the remaining 50% have underground site servicing in progress.

An image of the next house to receive a walk through – we are very excited for the homeowner to see their beautiful floor plan and Birch colour schemed home (one of our most popular colour schemes on site)!

February Construction Update

The exterior on three sides of the Phase 4 Condo building is finished. The south side of the building is 90% complete, and landscaping is in progress.

Final patching is happening on the fourth floor corridors. The finishing’s from the fourth floor to second floor are near complete, and we have a large crew focusing on the first floor to install the outstanding finishing’s before beginning the final patchwork.

We have begun framing the last House in Phase 8, having good weather definitely helps us during construction.

Winter Golf at it’s finest!

golf1

Who would have thought that the #1 course for winter golf is right here at Tsawwassen Springs.  Even when mother nature isn’t on our side, we can guarantee two things when you come and join us for a round of golf in the month of February.  Number one we have the best drainage in the Lower Mainland, so even if the previous day brought a large amount of rain, our fairways will be the driest in the area.  Number 2 our greens will always be smooth and fast which makes for an enjoyable day on the links!  Our winter rates will remain the same for the entire month of February, by having a Springs Card your green fees will only be $35 during the week ($29 for seniors 60 & up), and $37 on the weekend, with twilight rates beginning at 1pm.  If you only have time to hit a bucket, don’t forget about our heated & covered driving range to get a kick start on the 2019 season.

Construction Update January 2019

We closed our 18th single detached House in Phase 7 just before Christmas came around!  It is always wonderful to see the creative decorations going up in our neighbourhood at the end of the year.  We certainly have many Homeowners in the community who put a lot of effort in bringing about holiday cheer!

In the meantime, construction goes on as usual, with cabinets being cleaned in the below Phase 7 Houses – ready to present to our next Homeowner moving in.  Tyvek can be seen below going on to a strip of our Phase 8 Houses. The fill that was noted in November 2018’s blog has almost all been completely removed and certainly makes for an astounding difference over at the Phase 9 site!   Please see below recap for below and after photos.

2019 Golf Goals

2019 is here, if one of your goals is to lower your handicap or simply improve to help your enjoyment of the great game of golf, here are some tips from your Head Professional at Tsawwassen Springs Danny Long:

#1)         Purchase a range pass and hit a bucket at least once a week.  Before the Spring arrives this will force you to focus on your ball striking in the confines of our covered and heated driving range.  Getting a head start on the Spring, without the distraction of worrying about the score you are shooting, this will allow you groove your swing and build your confidence.

#2)         Now that you have put some time in on the range by yourself, you will probably have identified some consistent patterns as to where you feel you need some help.  You may be struggling with contact either hitting it consistently heavy or thin, you may find you are struggling with specific clubs like your wedges, your driver, or your fairway woods off the mat, you may be getting frustrated with a fade that has turned into a slice.  Now that you have seen these patterns, I implore you to take advantage of the climate we live in and the Professional Team we have, whether it be January, February or March, visit the Academy page on our website or stop by the pro shop and set up an initial lesson with one of our PGA of Canada Professionals, I assure you this will shave strokes off.

#3)         Are your clubs right for you?  During your initial lesson, ask Andy, Matt or Danny if they can assess your set and provide any suggestions.  Too often amateurs results are being held back by using equipment that simply is not fit for their abilities and strength.  This does not mean we will ask you to purchase a full new set, we will simply suggest areas you will see immediate improvement with, maybe an extra wedge, ensuring all you flexes are correct and match, replacing an iron with a hybrid and so on.

#4)         Get fit!  A new year brings a time for resolutions, it is an undeniable fact that if you improve your strength, flexibility and overall heath, your results on the course will follow suit.

The team at Tsawwassen Springs looks forward to another great year of golf, and anything we can help with please pop in or send an email.

Here’s to lower scores!
