Woods Coffee opening first Canadian location in B.C.
White Spot parent company Shato Holdings bringing Pacific Northwest-inspired coffee shop to Tsawwassen Springs

November 16, 2015 – Vancouver, B.C. – With 17 locations in Washington State, Woods Coffee today announced plans to expand into Canada. The company is partnering with White Spot parent company Shato Holdings Ltd. to open its first Canadian coffee shop in Tsawwassen, British Columbia. The new location will open its doors in early 2016 at the Tsawwassen Springs Golf Club.

“We’re excited to see the growth of a family-based, premium coffee service into B.C., and believe this will be a great addition to the Tsawwassen community,” said Warren Erhart, President of White Spot. “As a Shato Holdings brand, The Woods Coffee company shares the same values as White Spot, offering high quality premium products and exceptional guest service.”

Woods Coffee will maintain its signature Pacific Northwest feel as it expands north. Tsawwassen customers will enjoy a drive-through feature for coffee on the go, along with an indoor fireplace around which guests will enjoy Woods-roasted coffee and made-from-scratch baked treats.

“We are honoured to be working with Shato Holdings, who have a proven track record in the hospitality sector,” said Wes Herman, Woods Coffee Owner. “There’s no doubt they will be able to carry on the much-loved Woods culture in B.C.”

Tsawwassen is a suburban community on a peninsula in the Lower Mainland, in the Municipality of Delta, with access to Point Roberts, Washington. Details on the Woods Coffee at Tsawwassen Springs location, including hours of operation, will be announced closer to its opening.

Construction Update | Phase 3 Bare Land Strata

Interior and exterior painting is in progress on the golf course fronting Houses, with plumbing, electrical, tiling, fixtures and wood flooring installations happening as well.  Apart from these, we have exterior siding being installed, insulation going in, and driveways are being poured through the middle stretch of the Phase 3 Houses. For the last stretch of lots, windows have gone in with plumbing, electrical and Tyvek all in progress up to the last home.

The kitchen cabinets for an interior Birch Scheme have now been installed for this House in the first block of Phase 3 Houses.  Tiling for the backsplash is in progress.  Grouting will be following shortly.

We’ve begun receiving appliances!

Like our counter tops and finished floors, stair railings get covered for protection immediately after they are installed.

This media room has one more final coat of paint to go before the face plates for the electrical plugs get installed.

These interior doors for the bedrooms, storage rooms, laundry rooms etc. are spaced out while they cure to prevent the doors from sticking to one another.

The counter top for this Birch Scheme master ensuite vanity has been installed, along with sink fixtures.  The field tiles and accent tiles are almost complete around the shower.

Driveways have been poured along the first block of Houses.

The Houses across the street are getting their driveway space laid out in preparation for pouring as well.

A Walnut Scheme kitchen in progress with a supply of crown moulding laid out in the Great Room.

The interior of one of our Phase 3 Houses in the last stretch of lots, where plumbing and electrical work are both in progress.  A view of the front door from inside…

…and outside.

Looking southwards, exterior Tyvek installation is in progress for the middle to last stretch of Houses.

Looking northwards, you can catch a glimpse of the framing station in the distance.  As framing for the Phase 3 Houses is complete, it is now being used as the framing station for the Concession Stand and Commercial Building.

Coats for Kids 2014

We had an enormous turn out for donations this holiday season at Tsawwassen Springs.   Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day to rummage through their house for items they were willing to part with, as well as those who went as far as to go shopping for new toys and clothes.  With a count of 505 items collected, we more than doubled the amount of donations we received last year!

We wanted to share with everyone the photos we took over the course of the last two weeks, including where the donations ended up, and how much everyone has contributed towards along with the rest of the Lower Mainland.    Thank you again for the many generous donations that were dropped off at the Golf Pro Shop, the Sales Center, and with the Builder.

An entire table of brand new children’s clothes.

The teddy bear production line.

The toys this year were awesome.  We received over 100 of them.

And the donations just kept coming.

This was at 7 AM last Friday, the morning of our cut off donation time.  And we were still counting.

We had two vehicles stuffed to the brim.
 Fully loaded.

The Coats for Kids crates that we added to at the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.

Bikes are a super rare gift for the Christmas Bureau to receive.  This year, they got sponsors – and a whole lot of children are getting a brand new bike this holiday season.

They call this the Toy Room, where items are sorted and families get to bring their children in to shop for an age appropriate gift.

The children are also guaranteed one new book with each toy they pick up.
