Construction Update

construction1

We officially completed Phase 4 Houses at the end of March. At the same time, Phase 5 golf course Houses  are nearing their finishing stages. On the south end of our interior homes, dry wall installation  and painting is in progress. Moving to the north side of the Houses,  siding and interior rough-ins are in progress.  And  we are framing for the last few Houses in Phase 5.

Aeration of the Course April 2nd to April 4th

Tsawwassen Springs will be aerating this coming weekend.  We will be closing Sunday April 2nd at 1pm, closed Monday April 3rd, and re-opening Tuesday April 4th at 10am.

The word aeration stimulates negative emotions for many golfers. It may come as a surprise, but golf course superintendents also dislike aeration. After all, the last person who wants to disrupt the smoothness of the putting greens they work so hard to maintain is the superintendent.  Golfers often ask, “Why is aeration needed?” Aeration is an essential program to keep playing surfaces healthy and in good condition. Aeration primarily is performed to control organic matter – i.e., decaying roots and grass stems – relieve soil compaction, stimulate root growth and improve drainage. If organic matter becomes too thick, it acts like a sponge and holds water at the surface after rain or irrigation. Excessive organic matter also inhibits root growth, reduces oxygen levels in the soil, encourages disease and eventually can lead to turf failure. Furthermore, excessive organic matter creates soft surfaces prone to ball marks, foot printing and inconsistent playing conditions. Aeration and topdressing are the most effective ways to control organic matter and maintain smooth, firm putting surfaces.

All that being said we hope that you understand this necessary measure, we will be providing the following rates until the greens are back up to our standards (usually 10 days).  April 4th-7th – $25, April 8th-14th – $35, April 15th back to Spring rates – April 30th.

Construction Update | Condos

As many visitors and Homeowners can see, our work at the Phase 3 Condo has progressed up to the sixth floor West now where walls are being formed!  The masonry for our underground parkade is 80% complete.  We are also 100% complete for interior framing on the first and second floor, and 100% complete for exterior framing on the third floor.

The unusually heavy bout of Lower Mainland snow during the last month did not stop our crews from working day and night on our scheduled concrete pour (on one of the heaviest snow days!), and we are very proud of the efforts that our trades and construction team have demonstrated throughout the challenging weather. It was a successful pour. Please see below for photos of the work that progressed throughout the snowfall!
