New Tee Box on Hole 11 at Tsawwassen Springs

Thanks to the terrific efforts from the maintenance crew at Tsawwassen Springs, led by Superintendent Gord Olsen, we are happy to say we have just opened our new tee box for the white and blue tees on hole #11.  As you can see in the picture or when you are here in person, the water is still in play, but the large, elevated tee off area will certainly enhance the experience of teeing off this tricky par 4.  We are in full swing here at Tsawwassen Springs with summer around the corner, the course is in beautiful condition, the Pro Shop is fully loaded with all of its new stock, the driving range features new yardage signs and aiming posts, all that being said we hope to see you out enjoying any aspect of golf in the very near future.

Construction Update

We have had a busy two months at our Phase 3 condo building! There is lots has been of move-in activity on a daily basis, and we are pleased to say that all of our pre-sale Homeowners have now taken possession of their suites!   It has been very exciting welcoming our new Homeowners to 5011 Springs Boulevard.

At the Phase 4 Condo building, trusses and balconies are being built on the fourth floor, while mechanical rough-in’s are in progress from third to first floor. In the coming weeks, we will be preparing to start roofing by completing the plywood on our west wing. Progress photos of 4977 Springs Boulevard below!

Tsawwassen Springs Open House | Saturday, April 21 12pm to 3pm

Join us Saturday, April 21 from 12pm to 3pm and tour the grounds at Tsawwassen Springs. Come see all we have to offer!   Our Springs Ballroom will be set up with sections featuring how we can set up for weddings and other events, complimentary hors-d’oeuvre’s and champagne punch will be served.  Pat Quinn’s Restaurant & Bar we have complimentary appetizer’s and beer samples.  The golf course will be offering merchandise discounts and a putting competition, with prizes! There will also be live music with Southside Vibe. Also have a chance to win a GRAND PRIZE draw worth $500!!!

Tsawwassen Wellness Centre is going to be doing a series of short workshops, promoting health and wellness with door prizes.

Sungod Sports and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Clinic will be open for people to look through the clinic. Staff will be onsite to explain how physio can help them.

Newman’s Fine Foods are featuring demo tasting’s in store and will be giving prizes away with draws of tickets and in store specials.

Woods Coffee Canada  is excited to partner with its neighbours and say thank you for your support. Join us April 21 for free coffee, hot chocolate,  sampling of our cold brew and balloons for kids.

Tsawwassen Springs Golf Aeration

Tsawwassen Springs will be aerating this coming weekend.  We will be closing Sunday April 8^th at 1pm, closed Monday April 9^th, and re-opening Tuesday April 10^that 10am.

The word aeration stimulates negative emotions for many golfers. It may come as a surprise, but golf course superintendents also dislike aeration. After all, the last person who wants to disrupt the smoothness of the putting greens they work so hard to maintain is the superintendent.  Golfers often ask, “Why is aeration needed?” Aeration is an essential program to keep playing surfaces healthy and in good condition. Aeration primarily is performed to control organic matter – i.e., decaying roots and grass stems – relieve soil compaction, stimulate root growth and improve drainage. If organic matter becomes too thick, it acts like a sponge and holds water at the surface after rain or irrigation. Excessive organic matter also inhibits root growth, reduces oxygen levels in the soil, encourages disease and eventually can lead to turf failure. Furthermore, excessive organic matter creates soft surfaces prone to ball marks, foot printing and inconsistent playing conditions. Aeration and topdressing are the most effective ways to control organic matter and maintain smooth, firm putting surfaces.

All that being said we hope that you understand this necessary measure, we will be providing the following rates until the greens are back up to our standards (usually 10 days).  April 10^th – 13^th – $25, April 14^th – 19^th – $35, April 20^th back to Spring rates – April 30^th.
